After the Evacuation, many Seekers were faced with a daunting and unfamiliar sense of freedom. Like the Wardogs, they had been weapons of war designed and commanded by human minds. Furious and confused over the abandonment of their human masters, the Seekers wreaked havoc over West DI for a few weeks following the Evacuation. Only when one cat emerged amongst them did they begin to reign in the chaos. This cat, Percival, rallied the wild Seekers under his command- with one goal. Take over the island. With dwindling prey resources, and hostile creatures hiding in the island’s vast wilds, the only way for the Shadows to survive, is to become the island’s rightful rulers.

TOTAL WAR

Shadows believe they are the rightful rulers of the island, and as such view any carnivore that is not a cat (to some degree, any creature not a Seeker) as an enemy. Any creature that is not a Shadow is to be treated as prey, or an enemy combatant, and dealt with as such.

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST

Cats unfit for combat are shunned, and will receive no help or healing from another Shadow. If they try to seek aid from a non-Shadow they will be executed. Those who die from any reason other than combat, are to be forgotten and left for the carrion birds.

BADGES OF HONOR

Seekers tend to have their own inherent physical deformities, so there is no value in beauty in the clan. Earning scars in combat are seen as badges of honor, testaments to a Shadow's strength and right to life through battle. Cats with perfect bodies, especially non-Seekers, are seen as less than.

The Shadows have an unusually hierarchy, just as chaotic as their path of destruction.

THE SHADE

The leader of the Shadows, their word is law. They lead in battle, and Shadows must protect the Shade with their lives in order to achieve glory.

COUNCIL

Under direction of the Shade, the Council rules the Shadows. They deal with the day to day operations of the clan and advise the Shade on all matters. Their word is as binding as the Shade’s, and to disobey the Council is to face death. In rare circumstances the Council may elect to execute the Shade, should they find the Shade too weak or otherwise unable to lead.

BEASTS

Beasts are Plague Hounds of the feline variety. They are the only non-Seekers amongst the clan that aren't looked down on. This does not mean they are treated any better, as their toxicity and infectious nature tend to keep them from recieving any meaningful physical contact. Beasts are seen more as tools, weapons, in the war against other predators.

SHADOWS

The rest of the clan. Shadows generally establish an informal hierarchy amongst themselves, but no matter who is determined the strongest- they all will answer to the Council and ultimately the Shade. Shadows will obey any order and tasking given to them by either the Council or Shade.
